Max & Maddie

This chair is one of their favorite places to play. It is really bouncy so they stand up and then slide down into a sitting position and it makes them bounce. They will play forever (usually) until Maddie gets bumped and starts crying :-)

They also like to play peekaboo with the chair. Max goes behind and then peaks around the chair and Maddie laughs and laughs. It is really fun to sit and watch them play together. Max is really good with her, his problem is wanting to play with her too much. She can be pretty independent sometimes.

One of Maddie's new favorite past times is getting into drawers. She pulls everything out and studies each item. As I said earlier Maddie is taking after her brother in her love for climbing. On Sunday after church I sat and watched her climb onto a chair and then from there onto the table. I couldn't believe it! She also loves climbing up the stairs. It is a daily struggle to keep her away from them.

Max loves the computer. He likes plays educational games on the internet and soaks up everything he learns. He also likes typing things in Word or on Instant Messenger. When ever I am talking with someone on IM he always wants to join in and type something. Some of you may have gotten some IM's of gibberish from him.

We were invited to have dinner with the Schneider family, a family in our ward, a couple weeks ago. The mother is Max's primary president. When we first got there he saw that they had a "Mozilla Firefox" icon on the desktop of their computer. He said, "Look, its a Mozilla Firefox, What's that Mozilla Firefox doin'?" They couldn't believe that he knew what that was. She was surprised that he knew how to use a computer at his age. Then that Sunday in primary Max was drawing a picture of a Book of Mormon. He drew the book and then wanted to write "Book of Mormon" on it. He asked me if he could write it in all capital letters. I said "Yes, you can". So he drew a little square next to his the book and said, "Mom, will you write caps lock on that button, it's a caps lock button." I wrote caps lock on it and it pushed it and made a clicking sound and said, "There now I can write in all caps, I have the caps lock on." When the primary president asked what the button was, I explained to her what it was and she said, "He truly is a child of the 21st century."

Here are links to some of his favorite sites, most of them are educational, and all are good for young children.
